UNION, NJ – Giving back to the community and those in need took center stage on Saturday when the MTN Organization’s Pop-Up Pantry visited Vauxhall.

MTN Organization founders Yvette and Reggie Anderson have been helping others since 2010. “This really started out as my wife’s mission,” said Reggie. “She grew up as a child in need in Manalapan and her family struggled.” Reggie said Yvette’s grandparents showed her how to give back, despite their own difficulties.

Anderson said the Pop-Up Pantry comes to the Vauxhall area the first Saturday of every month. They give away fresh, organic fruits and vegetables, salads, breads, meat and dairy to those who stop by. “Everything is generously donated by Trader Joe’s and Panera Bread,” said Anderson. He said Saturday’s turnout was amazing. “We gave away one-and-a-half pallets of food today, in just an hour and a half.” He said they served well over 75 people. The MTN (Meet the Need) Organization visits different locations in North and Central New Jersey each week. The Pop-Up Pantry in Vauxhall is held at Bob’s Transmission, 2139 Springfield Avenue.
